the weekend is over
We're back from our stay at Riva del Sole, it's sun and it's sand.
A beach densely populated by blue umbrellas, sunbeds and flowered bikinis. Globalization means international beach vendors. Asian girls sell massages, Indians jewelry, Africans sarongs, Italians coco, cocobello.

The Aesthetics of Silence.
The rhythmic in and out motion of the waves (remember Calvino's PALOMAR?) disturbed by the mothers screaming "No no no" to their children. A tiny little boy refuses to go into the water because he's afraid of the fish. His father, in a loud voice, uses every limited pedagogical trick he knows to convice his son to go into the water. The father then says: On the count of three, we'll go into the water together. The father counts to three 10 different times, but the little boy doesn't budge.

Women that look like unmade beds go thru a series of kamasutra like positions to butter their bodies with tanning creams. They read fashion magazines while their men read newspapers. I read DONNA from Pierluigi's La Repubblica:
1. Lei e il Presidente....Vittorio Zucconi writes about Mimi Beardsley
2. Austistico e geniale....re: the Asperger Syndrome and a review of THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG
3. Peter Saville, una factory da copertina....Saville defines himself a living legend. He's influenced art, design and fashion but mainly has produced record covers.

Tired of reading, I lie on the beach wiTh my body already tanned by self-tanning lotions and think about theories for DAILY AESTHETICS. In specific, those related to recycling and Born Again Objects.

Beaches are about bodies.

The best part of the weekend was having seen Sergio and Valentina.
