Ecofeminism is a feminist approach to environmental ethics----the connection to ecofeminism, This "politics of knowledge" plays an important role in Feminist and Ecofeminist theory. Knowledge is a commodity, and the parties in power over the whole use, subvert, revise, and edit information to suit their needs. And in this way, women's history, spirituality, and thought have "swept under the carpet" as it were, erased from history so that a patriarchy, a culture dominated by men and values traditionally associated with men could succede----Ecofeminism is the social movement that regards the oppression of women and nature as interconnected. Gaia Theory: Science of the Living Earth----Gaia theory is a class of scientific models of the biosphere in which life fosters and maintains suitable conditions for itself by affecting Earth's environment. The first such theory was created by the English atmospheric scientist, James Lovelock, who developed his theories in the 1960s before formally publishing them in 1979.
